Chris-Tel Construction of Fort Myers was given an outstanding achievement in the field of restoration/rehabilitation from Florida Trust for Historic Preservation for completion of the renovation of Olga School at the Trust’s 2009 annual statewide preservation conference in West Palm Beach. Olga School is in Lee County in the Olga community which was settled in the 1800s. The facility
served as a school from 1927 to 1938. After its closure, it was used as a church and now as a community center. Interior and exterior renovations were completed including removal of incompatible material from previous renovations and installing new electrical and mechanical systems. The facility is owned and
operated by Lee County Parks and Recreation for the benefit of the area’s children and non-profit organizations. Chris-Tel Construction specializes in historic restoration and renovations.
